DR. JOE HOMAN JOINS ENERGETICS TECHNOLOGY CENTER AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
La Plata, Md., June 30, 2010 – Dr. Joseph V. Homan recently joined the Energetics Technology Center (ETC) as Executive Director. In this capacity, Dr. Homan will serve as a member of the Executive Management Team focused on building ETC into a world-class research, development, and engineering organization. He will be responsible for supporting and expanding efforts in energetic informatics, information technology, and virtual reality.
“Dr. Homan’ s credentials are impressive and he is a welcomed addition to the company,” said Rear Admiral (RDML) Tom Donaldson (USN ret), President of ETC. “Dr. Homan will assist us in growing our modeling and simulation capabilities and efforts.”
Dr. Homan has more than 25 years of experience in the defense consulting arena. He has managed numerous technical projects and programs up to $200M in the areas of software development, database management, and simulation modeling – primarily supporting federal government clients in the functional areas of Electronic Commerce, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management. He has 15 years of experience managing technical projects in for-profit companies and 10 years in nonprofit organizations. In addition to managing projects, he has taught project management courses in industry and at the undergraduate level.
Dr. Homan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from Miami University, a Master of Business Administration degree in Logistics Management from Wright State University, and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Robert Morris University. He recently earned his Doctor of Science degree in Information Systems and Communications from Robert Morris University.
He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), International Association for Computer Information Systems (IACIS), Project Management Institute (PMI), and SOLE – The International Society of Logistics.
