ETC was incorporated on 24 August 2006 and commenced operations on 1 April 2007 as part of the Southern Maryland Initiative for Energetics Capability Development, in partnership with the Center for Energetics Concepts Development (CECD) at the University of Maryland. The company's charter included its designation as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a specific focus to be a catalyst for research, development, prototyping, education and training in Southern Maryland and to facilitate, in partnership with IHD-NSWC, Southern Maryland becoming a world-class Center of Excellence in Energetics.
Currently ETC has two Partnership Intermediary Agreements (PIAs), with the Army Research Laboratory and the Naval Air Warfare Center-Aircraft Division. We are assisting in technology transfer efforts, taking DoD technologies and transitioning them to the commercial market.
Our future is bright because of the quality of our employees, the alignment of our priorities and the relevancy of our charter to become a world-class research, development, test and evaluation (T&E) provider for the government, academia, and industry. We intend to expand our scope and reach with a disciplined approach to growth, never forgetting that we exist to serve the public interest and support our communities.
