Eldy Zuniga is the Design/Packaging Engineer that focuses on micro-electromechanical systems or MEMs for short. Eldy graduated from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Material Science & Engineering. He worked at the University of Michigan Lurie Nanofabrication Facility throughout his undergraduate and graduate years under Dr. Pilar Herrera-Fierro. This was where he developed both his skills and interest in the field. Eldy joined Energetics Technology Center (ETC) in November 2017 and began assisting Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center MEMs in project design, packaging, testing, and data analysis.
Eldy is a first-generation Honduran born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He helps in his family business and still travels to Honduras with this family to visit family and provide small food baskets and toys for the children if we come by Christmas time. As any port city boy, he looks for any opportunity to be in open water or being on any boat to relax.
