A consultant for Energetics Technology Center with 34 years leading and managing large innovative organizations. He Initiated and fielded the Department of Defense’s 1st Internal social media platform, milSuite to over one million DOD users. He is a leader in cybersecurity, Army and DOD information technology capabilities, and knowledge management solutions. He was also an early thought leader in the development of DOD Electronic Commerce. He graduated from James Madison University, with a B.S. in Political Science, and from Steven’s Institute of Technology, with a Master of Science in Technology Management. He is certified in the Army Acquisition Corps, and Professional Designations: Project Management, Contracting. Emerson was awarded the following recognitions; Department of Defense David Packard Award; Government Technology Leadership Award; Department of Defense Innovation Award; Excellence.Gov Finalist; Multiple Top Army Knowledge Management Awards; Stevens Institute of Technology Donald Merino Award of Excellence.
Emerson worked as the Chief Information Officer for the US Army, PEO C3T, at Fort Monmouth, NJ, and APG MD for close to twenty years. During this tenure, he resided on the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO) Executive Board & Army Materiel Command/ASA(ALT) G6/CIO Board Member & served as Chairman for those bodies on several occasions. Other assignments included the Director of Army’s Miltech Solutions, the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics & Technology ASA(ALT) Cyber Task Force Lead, and the Director of Cyber Operations & Defense for PEO C3T.
