ETC supports federal, state, and local government agencies and collaborates with a variety of academic, nonprofit, and for-profit companies. We are always looking for partners to collaborate on any tenant of what we do. We engage with partners through Cooperative Agreements, FAR based contracts, Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs), and Partnership Intermediary Agreements (PIAs).
What is a PIA?
A Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) is a contract, agreement, or memorandum of understanding with a non-profit partnership intermediary to engage academia and industry on behalf of the government. The goal is to accelerate tech transfer and licensing.
Common Applications and Advantages
- Services that facilitate technology transfer to the private sector.
- Used by government labs to increase the likelihood of success in conducting cooperative or joint activities with small businesses and higher education institutions using their technical assistance.
